Hey readers!
There’s a big chuck of new blogginess on the site today! I was in the midst of a bit of a backlog, but all that is getting cleared out as I type! I’ve got new contributions from Becca and Trevor, with a new reviewer (Ashley) to add on this round. My 7th graders are reviewing machines! I’ve even added a new one myself and I’m about to finish another one later today, I think!
Speaking of 7th graders, I just thought I’d give a quick shout-out to Mrs. Martin’s Reading Class at Jessie Clark Middle School in Lexington, Ky. I visited them last Thursday at their school and had an opportunity to share the blog with them. Hopefully we’ll be seeing some contributions from Central Kentucky very soon! They were some very cool kids with some VERY cool books to share!
And on a personal note, I got married over the weekend! Now that I’m back at school and things are returning to normal (whatever that is!) the reviews should get posted more frequently. Remember to check back early and often and always remember to leave us comments!
And don’t forget to read a banned book this week! September 29th (my wedding day!) through October 6th is Banned Books Week. Click on the BBW banner below for plenty of info about what this celebration is about and what books traditionally are considered “trouble” in schools and libraries. There’s a couple of books that we’ve already blogged about here that some people have gotten in quite a twist over. Wanna know which ones? Check out the lists through the link and remember, FREE PEOPLE READ FREELY!
Readingly yours,
Mrs. Northcutt (formerly the great and powerful Ms. Damron)
