I really hate to interrupt all of the Twilight blogging, but I did want to let you know about something I just discovered. There is a movie currently in theaters and it is based on the book The City of Embersby Jeanne DuPrau. I have read this book, but I recently purchased a copy of it (so if you need to see one, come see me). In the city of Ember, all citizens are assigned work at the age of twelve. They do not get to choose the job they would like, but instead must draw it from a group of jobs. I don’t know how many of you have read The Giver by Lois Lowry, but this book reminds me of it so much. So, I would be willing to bet that if you love that book, you’ll like this one. What’s even better is that it is the first book in a series. Other books in the series are: The People of Sparks and The Prophet of Yonwood. Now, normally, I wouldn’t tell you to watch the movie first, and then read the book, but since it is out in theaters now, I am, unless of course you want to wait for the DVD. It is officially on my list of books to read. If anyone has read it, or seen the movie, let me know what you think! For more information on the book or movie, visit www.cityofember.com.
Mrs. S

I was surprised and excited to see that you had posted a review! As I was reading your description of the plot I was already thinking it had a similar feel to “The Giver” and then you mentioned it. I’ve had this one on my “want to read” list for a while.
If you want any hints on using the text editor to write posts, just holler at me. Awesome job , Mrs. Scott!
