Like the 90s alternative rock band The Offspring said, “You gotta keep ‘em separated” (from the super-cool tune “Come Out and Play”).
Of course, I think that The Offspring might have been referring to gang violence, but the phrase still works for my purposes. Just roll with it.
To hopefully cut down on confusion, 6th and 8th graders will have separate posts for their weekly assignments. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE WRITING YOUR COMMENTS ON THE CORRECT POST OR THEY WILL BE DELETED. With that out of the way, on with the topic.
This is a two-part question.
- Name and describe the main character of your first project book. Include info such as the character’s age, physical features, and aspects of their personality.
AND
- Describe how you feel about the main character of your book. Do you like them? Dislike them? Do you think that you would want to interact with the character if he/she/it was a real person? Make sure that you tell us WHY you feel the way that you do.
Clear as mud? I hope so. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask in person or email me.
Take it away, 8th graders!

The main charcter in Beauty Shop For Rent is Abbey a 15 year old girl who was abandoned by her mother when she was 11 left with her Granny Po who runs the beauty shop. Abbey is trying to save up 1 millon dollars by the time she is 35 years old. Granny Po is trying to rent the beauty shop to someone and that might mean no job for Abbey.

In my book I heart you you haunt me, Ava a highschool student has had a great loss in her life and that cause her to be gloomy.
I like the main character of the book Ava because she has had so much happen to her but she still tries to go on in life with the people she has left. I beleive if Ava was a real person i could interact with her because she seems to be a very nice person, and easy to get along with.

Isn’t this book written in narrative poetry? It sounds really good, and it seems like a quick read as well, so I may have to put it on my ‘to read’ list.

In my book, The Hunger Games the main character is Katniss. She’s skinny, with brown hair. She hunts everyday so that her family has something to eat. She knows all kinds of edible plants. She’s pretty cool. She shoots a bow and throws knifes. She pretty good with the bow.

I have already finished my first book “This is What I Did:”, it was a great book, but pretty strange. Anyways … The main character is Logan Paloney, and he’s a pretty boring guy. He has recently just moved into a new neighborhood and is trying to escape his past. He is in 8th gade. Logan, is very self-conscious. He used to like to play basketball with his brothers, and ride bikes with his best friend. However, alot as changed lately and now all he wants to do is sit in his bedroom, and do absolutely nothing.
I do not think I would hang out with Logan Paloney. Mainly because he is a boring guy, who mopes around, all do to his past. I feel sorry for him because, even though his parents think that by moving towns, they are giving him a new start for his life, but before they move his mom calls all the neighbors and is like “OMGsh my son is like so depressed about his past, he has problems blah-blah-blah-blah-blah” , its pretty sad.

I fell realy sad about his living fammily being murderd but it would realy fun if he was a real pirson. Not just becouse he lives in a graveyard but he can walk throwe walls and he can fade in to a neare by object.

Hello All!
I have officially finished my book “Sweethearts” By Sara Zarr. This was a wonderful book. I thought from the beginning that I wouldn’t like it because it didn’t really catch me from the start. But as I started to fall in love with Cameron and feel deeply sorry for Jenna/Jennifer (read the book if you wanna know more!!) the more and I started to like it!
The main character in my book is Jenna Vaughn/Jennifer Harris. She is a 17 year old girl in most of this book but parts are set when she is younger. This book has a lot of flashbacks. It goes and tells about her life as Jennifer Harris when she was younger. It’s hard to explain her character because throughout the book she acts the way she believes people want her to rather then how she really is. When she is a child she is very self-conscious, and she is also treated badly which is one reason she is very reserved. Jennifer is a social outcast in her childhood days but when she grows up she sheds her ways of being self- conscious (and a few pounds).
The other main character is Cameron. Even though he isn’t in the entire book in person form, Jenna (which she is when she’s older) still thinks about him a lot and so his name is mentioned. But when he is the younger Cameron he is just like Jennifer. They both are not very sociable, and that’s how they become friends.
I would have probably never hung out with Jennifer in her younger years. But I might have when she became Jenna and was very open minded and enjoyed the company of her friends. Jennifer wasn’t like me in almost any ways. But Jenna was very much like me so I could see us getting along fabulously!
I would have to say that I would be the same with Cameron. When he returns to Jenna’s life he is still the same but yet he is very different. He doesn’t change the way he acts but he is trying to be as helpful to Jenna as possible.
I really enjoyed this book and I think that anyone who was in the need for a great connection between two “Sweethearts” (pun intended!) would greatly like this book too!
S’later!

In my book “Cracker”, the main character is a German Shepard named Cracker. She is strong and beatuiful and in the United States Military dog unit. She is in Veitnam and she is really good at sniffing out booby traps and bombs.
I like Cracker. If Cracker was real, I would like to have her as my dog. I feel this way, becuase she is obdient and smart, and because I like dogs.

one of my books is The Graveyard Book and the main charecter is Silas, and Nobody Owens. Nobody is a boy whos parents got killed but now is raised by ghost. Silas is his gaurdien.
My other book is Called I Heart You,You Haunt Me. The main chareters is Ava and Jackson. Jackson dies and comes back to haunt Ava because they are in love. But evenntualy Ava askes him to leave.
I would like to be in Ava’s situation because she found her true love. Also it would be cool to be like Nobody Owens because he is raised by ghost.

As you know from my first post.. I am reading the Alchemyst by Michael Scott. The two main characters are twins, their names are Sophie and Josh Newman. They are 15 and saving up for a car! Sophie works at a cofee shop and Josh works at a library alon with Nick Fleming..one of the other main characters.
I like them so far. They really havent given me a reason not to!They are very protective over each other which is kind of natural considering that they are twins! Well until the next post goodbye everyone!

I am reading the book Artichokes Heart. The main charater in my book is Rosemary. She is all most 16. She is kinda quiet around people she doesnt know .She is trying to stop thinking about food and be a normal teenager.
I like her but i think she should stop being so hard on her mother because her mother is just trying to help her. But other than that she is a good person and if she was real i think i would hang out with her.
