OK, gang. This is going to be another “all-skate” kind of post. You know what I mean, right? Like at the skating rink when everybody gets out and gets moving, both 6th and 8th graders are going to respond on THIS post of mine.
And by the way, GOOD JOB on making sure that you weren’t posting your comments on the other class’s post during this project! I love it when I don’t have to try to move things around. You all really seem to be getting the hang of things out here in the blogosphere.
But I’ll hurry up and get to the point. Here’s your task:
- Identify which book that you read during our project time that you are you going to choose to use when creating a Book Video. You should pick the one that you liked the most or that you think will produce the most interesting final product.
- Describe three images that you will have to find or create yourself that you know will DEFINITELY need to be in your Book Video to give an audience clear ideas about the plot/setting/characters of the book. Here are some examples to consider - Is there something that the main character loved more than anything and do you need to include a picture of it? Do you know someone that you could dress up to look like the main character and take pictures of them to help tell your story? Is the book set in a real place that photographs could illustrate? Do you need to create some digital art to represent something that was important?
There are lots of things to consider here. I’m feeling generous today, though, and I’ll give you an example of how I would answer this.
The book that I’ve chosen to make a video for is Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. This book concentrates heavily on technology and the fact that it is set in modern-day San Francisco, California. Three images that I feel I would need to include might be a picture of the Golden Gate bridge , a picture of an XBox , and a picture of a place called Treasure Island, which is off the coast of the city. I need the Golden Gate pic because it often is used as a symbol of the city, the XBox because it is featured in a major plotline, and the Treasure Island picture because that is the site of a Guantanamo Bay-style secret prison.

The book I am using to do my video project over is “I Heart You You Haunt Me,” three images i will need to help give a visual picture of the setting is a water fall back next to some woods, a picture of a mornful girl, and a picture of a ghost or something that shows a spirit.

Hello Book Lovers!
I have decided to do my book over “The Adoration Of Jenna Fox.” I have read about 6 books from the list but I have chosen to do it over this one. I am not finished with this book yet (smack myself) but I think it’s a great book so far.
I my 3 pictures are a hospital bed, a blue substance and a bird. Even though I’m not done with the book these items have ALOT to do with the book.

I am doing my book project over the book Artichoke’s Heart, by: Suzanne Supplee. I absolutely LUHve this book! Three images that I definitely will include in my book trailor include: a piece of chocolate, a sterotypical beauty shop, and a green jacket.
The piece of chocolate represents, the temptation that Rosemary had for food.
The majority of the setting takes place in a beauty parlor, so I most definitely need to include a picture of that.
Also, the green jacket is a very small part of the story that has a big meaning. Rosemary [Rosie] got her nickname, [Artichoke] because she once had a green jacket and since she is a large girl, she got the nickname.

The book I am choosing for my video project is “Cracker” by Cynthia Kadohata. The three images, I will be using in my video are the following. One will be a picture of a German Shepard with a handler to show a visual for the main character. The second picture will be of the Veitnam War to show a viusal for the setting. Third picture will be of a military base.

Well for my book video i am using my first book The Hunger Games. The three pictures that I will use will a picture of an arena, a picture of one person by thereself, and a picture of 23 dead people. The picture of the arena represnts the setting, where the contenders are taken to fight. The picture of one person represents that only one person can surivive. The 23 dead people represent the 23 dead contenders.

Urn to show who and what Violet is.
Taxi cab to show where and how Lucas met Violet.
A tape recorder to show how lucas finds out about how him, his dad, and Violet are all connected.
